Two Step Conversion of Ferulic Acid to Vinyl Phenol by Meena Krishania in Archives of Organic and Inorganic Chemical Sciences in Lupine Publishers

The cereal industries produce several million tons of cereal brans every year which are good source of ferulic acid. There was no such chemical route to convert ferulic to vinyl phenol directly. Therefore, an alternative approach two step conversion of ferulic acid to vinyl phenol was developed for better and costly flavour by using chemical route to make it cost effective.

Dependence of Cadmium Sulfide Fluorescence on the Excitation Light Energy (AOICS) - Lupine Publishers

Monotonic dependence ofthe fluorescence band position on the exciting light energy has been shown in polycrystalline hexagonal cadmium sulfide at 293 K. The observed phenomenon is interpreted on the basis of a qualitative model assuming the emission levels initiation in the energy gap as a result of antibonding (Cd-S)*-orbital's occupation in the course of electron excitation.

Coordination polymers including metal-organic frameworks, clathrates and cyanometallates have recently gained significance as an important class of solid state materials. In this critical review, the diversity, classification, synthesis, structure, properties, applications, geometrical and chemical factors that influence their formation have been carefully presented. The synthesis of these new classes of compounds from molecular building blocks and demonstration oftheir high surface area, adsorptive and trapping potentials of molecules, selectivity in separation and uptake of molecules, tunable and modifiable molecular structure, and photoluminescence, magnetic and antimicrobial responses holds the potential for innumerable applications based on these tailored properties.
