Prerequisites for Addressing the Development of Soil Erosion in Sloping Lands of Azerbaijan by RAE ZH Aliyev in An archive of organic and inorganic chemical sciences in Lupine Publishers

The article examines the issues of the possibility of studying the areas of development by soil erosion and its control. The study proved that the development of soil erosion is based on the forming impact of natural and anthropogenic factors. The degree of potential danger and the possibility of prevention, taking into account the preservation of the environmental situation in the foothills of the Upper Shirvan in the example of the Shamakhi district of the Republic of Azerbaijan, were studied. The main tasks of the study were a determination of the amount and degree of development of eroded and erosion-prone soils of the foothill zones carried out on the basis of soil erosion surveys of the farms of the republic.

Enhanced Arsenic Contents in Spring Water within the Engadine Valley (South-eastern Switzerland; Canton of Graubünden) by Werner Balderer in An archive of organic and inorganic chemical sciences in Lupine Publishers

Near the city of St. Moritz (Figure 1, Canton of Graubunden, Switzerland) were measured enhanced arsenic concentrations in the spring water which is used for drinking water. The investigated area is mainly formed of silicate rocks, which regionally contain arsenic-bearing minerals such as pyrite and haematite. The soil percolation water is contaminated with arsenic up to 120 micrograms per litre. These observed concentrations are largely above the internationally recommended limiting value of 10|ig/l. The sources of arsenic are supposed to be related to the occurrence of pyrite iron ore minerals and arsenic sulphur-minerals, such as arseno-pyrite (FeAsS) and CoAsS, within the crystalline rocks

Thioglycosides and Cancer Prevention by Anubhuti Sharma in An archive of organic and inorganic chemical sciences in Lupine Publishers

Plant food contains numerous nutritional & anti-nutritional compounds, which prevents various non-communicable diseases such as cancer. This paper gives an overview of the cancer preventive effect of brassica. In recent years, considerable attention has been paid to cancer protective role of Brassica through major secondary metabolites i.e. glucosinolates. Glucosinolates and their breakdown products have been widely studied for their biological effect on human and animal nutrition. These are responsible for the secretion of detoxifying enzymes that remove carcinogens from the organism. Furthermore, they activate proteins and II phase detoxifying enzymes. They act as a major defence system to plants and humans. However breakdown products of glucosinolates e.g. isothiocyanate and indole regulates cancer cell development by regulating target enzymes, which are involved in controlling apoptosis and blocking of the cell cycle. The present paper reviews the available literature on glucosinolates, their biosynthesis, hydrolysis, their health promoting beneficial effects and possible role in imparting defence against diseases especially cancer.

A new Manganese (II), Iron (II), Zinc (II), complex, has been and characterized by elemental analysis, UV-Vis, FT-IR and Binding of this Mn (II), Fe (II), Zn (II) complex with calf thymus DNA was investigated by UV-Visible absorption, fluorescence spectroscopy techniques. The intrinsic binding constants Kb of complex with CT-DNA, BSA obtained from UV-Vis absorption studies were 1.75X1 05,1.98X105and2.38X105M-1.
