Phytochemical, Antimicrobial Potential and Antifungal Activities Stem Bark Extract of Boswellia Ovalifoliolata by Teklit Gebregiorgis in Archives of Organic and Inorganic Chemical Sciences in Lupine Publishers

This study was carried out with an objective to investigate the antibacterial and antifungal potentials of Stem bark of Boswellia ovalifoliolata (BO). The aim of the study is to assess the antimicrobial activity and to determine the zone of inhibition of extracts on some bacterial and fungal strains. In the present study, the microbial activity of ethanolic extracts of stem bark of Boswellia ovalifoliolata. (Endemic medicinal plant) was evaluated for potential antimicrobial activity against medically important bacterial and fungal strains. The antimicrobial activity was determined in the extracts using agar disc diffusion method. The antibacterial and antifungal activities of extracts (5, 25, 50, 100, 250μg/ml) of Boswellia ovalifoliolata. Were tested against two Gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes two Gram-negative-Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa human pathogenic bacteria. Three fungal strains Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus clavatus, Candida albicans. Zone of inhibition of extracts were compared with that of different standards like ampicillin, ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin, and chloramphenicol for antibacterial activity and nystatin and griseofulvin for antifungal activity. The results showed that the remarkable inhibition of the bacterial growth was shown against the tested organisms. The phytochemical analyses of the plants were carried out. The microbial activity of the Boswellia ovalifoliolata was due to the presence of various secondary metabolites. Hence, these plants can be used to discover bioactive natural products that may serve as leads in the development of new pharmaceuticals research activities.

It is well known that tapes on the silicone pressure-sensitive adhesives base are high quality products used for special applications. Due to the excellent performance characteristics such as high adhesion, cohesion and tack, while high chemical and environmental conditions resistance, the choice of the layer protecting the adhesive film is a big problem. Due to this, expensive fluoridated films are used as protective layers. In order to reduce costs, a suitable bending of the protective layer was introduced (limitations of the contact surface of the adhesive film with a protective layer) which reduces the protection of the adhesive film. The introduction of dolomite particles into the adhesive film is intended to facilitate the removal of the protective layer, while maintaining the level of protection at the level of expensive films.

 Novel Stability Indicating RP-HPLC Method for the Simultaneous Estimation of Clindamycin and Adapalene in Pharmaceutical Dosage Forms (AOICS) - Lupine Publishers

A simple, accurate, rapid and precise isocratic stability indicating reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatographic method has been developed and validated for simultaneous determination of Clindamycin and Adapalene in tablets. The chromatographic separation was carried out on C18 BDS Hypersil (150 x 4.6mm, 5μ) with a mixture of mixed phosphate buffer: acetonitrile (55:45%v/v) as a mobile phase at a flow rate of 1.0mL/min. UV detection was performed at 230nm. The retention times were 2.84 and 3.999 min for Clindamycin and Adapalene respectively. Calibration plots were linear (r2=0.999) over the concentration range of 25-150μg/mL for Clindamycin and 2.5-15μg/mL for Adapalene. The method was validated for accuracy, precisio006E, specificity, linearity and sensitivity. The proposed method was successfully used for quantitative analysis of tablets. No interference from any component of pharmaceutical dosage form was observed. Validation studies revealed that method is specific, rapid, reliable, and reproducible. The high recovery and low relative standard deviation confirm the suitability of the method for routine determination of Clindamycin and Adapalene in bulk and tablet dosage form.

Carbonyl compounds are of paramount importance in the formation of C-C bonds and metal-ion control of their reactivity offers a way to promote, inhibit, or control such reactions [1]. The coordination of the oxygen atom of a carbonyl compound to a metal center is likely to modify the reactivity of that group. Products formally derived by attack at the carbonyl group may arise either by direct attack at the carbon atom or by attack at the metal followed by attack at carbon by the coordinated nucleophile. There has been a debate over the relative importance of these two competing mechanisms in biological and biomimetic systems. These two mechanisms may well both be operative in some cases. The principal reactions of carbonyl compounds are of two types: The first type is that in which the nucleophile reacts with the electrophilic carbon atom of a carbonyl group to generate a new tetrahedral center (Figure 1).

Nano-Grid[n]arenes: A Diverse Platform of Covalently Hierarchical Meta-molecules (AOICS) - Lupine Publishers

The manuscript aims to throw light on the route of synthesis of (3S)-3-(Amino methyl)-5-methylhexanoic acid: (PREGABALIN), which is a cost effective and efficient route. Pregabalin is a drug that is used in the treatment of epilepsy, neuropathic pain, fibromyalgia, and generalized anxiety disorder. This process of synthesis makes use of a liquid enzyme to avoid cost hike and improves the overall chiral purity of the final product accompanied with improved higher yields and purity. The investigational studies performed in this article will help improve the existing processes in certain aspects as discussed above.
